Αbstract:	Το δίκτυο Βιβλιοθηκών της Κοινωνικής Προσφοράς της Caja Madrid είναι τμήμα ενός Χρηματοδοτικού Φορέα που προορίζει μέρος των κερδών του στην πραγματοποίηση κοινωνικού έργου. Το Δίκτυο αποτελείται από 39 κέντρα και παρέχει τις υπηρεσίες του στην ισπανική κοινωνία για περισσότερα από 30 χρόνια. Σε αυτές τις δεκαετίες το Δίκτυο χρειάστηκε να αντιμετωπίσει σημαντικές αλλαγές στην λειτουργία του λόγω των της ένταξης των νέων τεχνολογιών και την άφιξη των μεταναστών στη χώρα μας. Σήμερα, το Δίκτυο Βιβλιοθηκών μας αντιμετωπίζει την πρόκληση παροχής νέων και περισσότερων υπηρεσιών σε μια εποχή οικονομικών περιορισμών. Με δεδομένη την μεγαλύτερη ζήτηση και τον χαμηλότερο προϋπολογισμό, χρειάστηκε να θέσουμε προτεραιότητες σε ομάδες και υπηρεσίες, να εκμεταλλευτούμε συνεργασίες, να ενδυναμώσουμε την χρήση του Internet και την αξία τω των ατόμων της οργάνωσης. Η λήψη αποφάσεων σε κάθε μια από αυτές τις περιπτώσεις έχει επηρεαστεί από την παρατήρηση της υπάρχουσας ζήτησης και την ανάλυση της κοινωνικής αποδοτικότητας. The Network of Libraries of the Welfare Projects Caja Madrid Foundation belongs to a financial institution that allocates a part of its benefits to the realization of social projects. The Network consists of 39 centres and has been offering services to the Spanish society for more that 30 years. In these decades the Network had to confront changes in its operations due to the incorporation of the new technologies and the arrival of immigrant people in our country. Nowadays, our Network of Libraries is facing the challenge of providing more and better services in an outlook of economic cuts. Having more social demands and less budget we had to give priority to some collectives and services, use synergies, strengthen the channel Internet and to foster the value of the persons in the organization. The taking of decisions in every case mentioned has been influenced by the existent demand and the analysis of social profitability.

Από το 2005 είναι Διευθύντρια του Δικτύο Βιβλιοθηκών Κοινωνικής Προσφοράς της Caja Madrid όπου έχει εφαρμόσει ένα σχέδιο διαχείρισης των αλλαγών και βελτίωσης των εσωτερικών διαδικασιών στις βιβλιοθήκες, που αφορά τις φυσικές και τεχνολογικές υποδομές, την επιμόρφωση και παροχή κινήτρων και το είδος των παρεχόμενων υπηρεσιών στους χρήστες. Συνέπεια αυτής της αλλαγής ήταν το πέρασμα από ένα παραδοσιακό σε ένα σύγχρονο μοντέλο που αντιλαμβάνεται τη βιβλιοθήκη συνολικά ως κέντρο πολιτιστικό, οικογενειακό και ψηφιακό. Μεταξύ των σημαντικότερων προγραμμάτων στα οποία έχει εργαστεί ξεχωρίζει η δημιουργία μιας διαδικτυακής πύλης με ολοκληρωμένο κατάλογο, η αύξηση του αριθμού και του είδους των δραστηριοτήτων των βιβλιοθηκών, και η ένταξη νέων ηλεκτρονικών συσκευών ανάγνωσης και ψηφιακών περιεχομένων. Έχει σχεδιάσει και εφαρμόσει κοινωνικές πρωτοβουλίες σχετικές με την ενθάρρυνση της ανάγνωσης, που απευθύνονται σε ειδικές ομάδες και περιλαμβάνουν την έκδοση ενός βιβλίου “εύκολης ανάγνωσης” καθώς και πρωτοβουλίες για την ένταξη των μεταναστών, δραστηριότητες για παιδιά με προβλήματα ακοής και διάφορες δράσεις σε νοσοκομεία. Έχει συμμετάσχει ως εισηγητής σε συναντήσεις σχετικές με την ανάγνωση και τον κόσμο των βιβλιοθηκών, όπως στις XVI Εκδηλώσεις της σχολής Επιστημών Τεκμηρίωσης του Πανεπιστημίου Complutense (2007), και το IV Εθνικό Κινητών Βιβλιοθηκών (2009). Από τις δημοσιεύσεις της που αφορούν τις βιβλιοθήκες αναφέρουμε τα ακόλουθα: “Nέες τεχνικές μελέτης του χρήστη που εφαρμόζονται στις Βιβλιοθήκες” στην Γενική Επιθεώρηση Πληροφορίας και Τεκμηρίωσης της Σχολής Πληροφορίας και Τεκμηρίωσης του UCM (2007/ISSN: 1132-1873) και “Όταν πρέπει κάτι να γίνει. Το παράδειγμα του Δικτύου Βιβλιοθηκών της Κοινωνικής Προσφοράς της Caja Madrid”, στο Περιοδικό Παιδεία και Βιβλιοθήκη (Nº178- Ιούλιος, Αύγουστος 2010). Έχει μια κόρη και είναι ιδρυτικό μέλος της Ένωσης Γυναίκα και Ηγεσία (AMYL). Επίσης είναι συγγραφέας ενός μυθιστορήματος που αναδημιουργεί τις τελευταίες ημέρες της ζωής του συγγραφέας Francisco de Quevedo. From 2005 she is the Director of the Network of Libraries of the Welfare Projects Caja Madrid Foundation where implemented a plan of change management and improvement of the internal processes of libraries, that goes from the physical and technological infrastructures to the training and motivation of the professionals and the kind of services that are offered to the users. This change supposed to pass from a traditional model to another one where it has place an integral vision of the library as a cultural, integrationist, familiar and digital centre. Among the most important projects that she promoted must be emphasized the creation of a web portal with an integrated catalogue, the increase of the number and typology of libraries, as well as the incorporation of new electronic devices of lecture and digital contents. Maribel Riaza Chaparro participated as a speaker in several forums related with the lecture and the libraries world, and as well in the XVI Conferences of the Faculty of Documentation Sciences of the Universidad Complutense (2007), and in the IV National Congress of Mobile Libraries (2009) among others. She designed and implemented social initiatives linked with the promotion of the lecture and directed to special collectives, as the edition of a book of “easy lecture”, initiatives for the integration of immigrants, activities for kids with hearing problems and various actions in the sphere of hospitals. Among the papers that published about libraries must be underlined “New techniques of user’s studies applied to libraries” in the General Journal of Information and Documentation of the Faculty of Documentation of the UCM (2007/ISSN: 1132-1873) and “When it must be done more with less: the example of the Network of Libraries of the Welfare Projects Caja Madrid Foundation”, in the Journal Education and Library (Nº178- July, August 2010). She is a mother of a child, honorary founder of the Association Woman and Leadership (AMYL) and wrote a novel about the last days of the life of the writer Francisco de Quevedo.
