Αbstract:	Σε καιρούς δύσκολους, όπου οι βιβλιοθήκες δεν έχουν τα απαραίτητα οικονομικά μέσα, είναι ιδιαίτερα σημαντικό να αποκτήσουν κύρος επικεντρώνοντας τις ενέργειες τους σε συγκεκριμένες και σημαντικές αποστολές. Η ενίσχυση της ανάγνωσης, η δεξιότητα με τα νέα μέσα, η δια βίου μάθηση και η μετάδοση γνώσεων αποτελούν σημαντικούς τομείς ενασχόλησης των σημερινών βιβλιοθηκών, μέσω των οποίων αναλαμβάνουν ενεργό ρόλο στο χώρο της παιδείας και της μόρφωσης. Στο εργαστήριο θα αναπτύξουμε πρακτικά και με τη βοήθεια παραδειγμάτων (πιθανές ομάδες-στόχοι, υπηρεσίες και συνεργάτες) το προφίλ μιας βιβλιοθήκης ως κέντρου πληροφόρησης. Οι συμμετέχοντες θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να επιλέξουν για τη βιβλιοθήκη τους το κατάλληλο προφίλ και να συντάξουν ένα κατάλογο με τις απαραίτητες ενέργειες για την πραγματοποίησή του. Το εργαστήριο έχει επίσης στόχο, να ενισχύσει τη συνεργασία μεταξύ των συναδέλφων, αφού η ύπαρξη ενός συνεργατικού δικτύου εμπλουτίζει και διευκολύνει την εργασία και σε τοπικό επίπεδο. At difficult times, when libraries do not have the necessary financial means, it is particularly important for them to acquire a degree of authority and influence by focusing their activities on significant and specific endeavors. The promotion of reading, the acquiring of skills dealing with new technologies, Lifelong Learning and the transfer of knowledge, constitute major aspects of the mission of today’s libraries which more and more are called upon to play an important role areas of education and training. With the aid of paradigms (specific target groups, services and collaborations) the workshop will present the profile of a library as an information center. Participants will have the opportunity to select the appropriate profile and develop a list of the necessary efforts required for its creation. In addition, the workshop aims to strengthen the cooperation among colleagues, since the existence of a cooperative network enriches and assists activities on a local level as well.
